Pure driving pleasure and comfort by the push of a button. The new KW DDC ECU coilover kit for the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG sedan, the C 63 AMG coupé and the C 63 AMG station wagon can do even more. AMG drivers can intuitively adapt the damper characteristics with the free KW DDC App in combination with an optional available wireless module. It can be adjusted via iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and even be share via E-mail. Without the KW DDC App, it can be chosen between the KW DDC modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport+” via a button placed in the cockpit. The KW DDC ECU coilovers can be lowered continuously within the German TÜV-tested adjustment range of up to 30 mm.

The Mercedes C 63 AMG with its 336 kW (457 hp) strong eight-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine is a pure driving machine; designed for pure driving dynamics. “During our development and test drives with the C 63 AMG, we were impressed by its sophisticated sportiness,” said Johannes Wacker, Product Manager at KW automotive. “Our KW DDC ECU coilover kit with its adaptive damper adjustment and the KW DDC App complements the AMG driving dynamics well; whether at the coupe, sedan, or even at the uncompromising functional station wagon.” The KW DDC ECU coilover kit not only allows to adjust the damping characteristic to the road conditions with the modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport+” by the push of a button, but it can also be configured intuitively with the free KW DDC App via iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Independent of front and rear axle, the AMG driver can adjust the characteristics of the dampers within the KW – safety requirements for his Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG. The continuous damper adjustment allows, either from the maximum “Comfort”-setup with a very soft damping (displayed in the App with 0%) up to Sport+ damper setup (displayed in the App with 100%), to adjust the KW DDC ECU dampers independent of front and rear axle individually. The secured WiFi communication between KW DDC control unit and iPhone occurs via an optional available W-LAN module. Up to five own setups can be stored with the KW DDC App and afterwards shared with friends via E-Mail.
When we have developed the adaptive KW DDC ECU coilovers, the “Comfort” mode was in focus and it convinced with a comfort-oriented setup. In addition, the KW DDC control module reads the vehicle data while driving the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG and its automatically adjusts the damping characteristics to the driving speed. In mode “Sport”, the damper work agile, while in “Sport+”, the sporty damping characteristic are in focus and it enables the AMG driver a pure driving experience. In the event of a technical fault, the KW DDC ECU coilovers automatically switch into a mechanical failsafe mode; then a proportional valve adjusts immediately to a neutral middle position and the dampers continue to work in the KW basic setup.

When installing the KW DDC ECU coilovers, the original struts will be replaced by completely mounted KW coilover struts in “inox-line” stainless steel finish. It allows a continuous lowering within the TÜV-tested adjustment range of 5-30 mm at the front axle. On the drive axle, the C 63 AMG sedan and station wagon of the W204 series can be lowered up to 30 mm and at the C 63 AMG coupé a lowering of 5-25 mm is possible. The matching German TÜV certificate belongs to the delivery content just as the entire installation accessories.
