Cargraphic set out to prove that exact settings of all the parts, as well as even power delivery and a kind clutch, are superior in many situations to just straight horsepower. The Landau tuner proved that during an exciting showdown called “0-300-0” kph – a name that speaks for itself.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 kph was measured along with the 0-200 and 0-300kph times, followed by full braking from 300 to a standing start. So there are four events, with all counting towards the final result. A constellation of stars turned out, which cranked the tension up no end.
On the high speed oval in Papenburg the Who’s Who of sportscars came together on the 5th September, with stock street heroes going against the cream of the tuner world. Here the Cargraphic 997 Tu rbo GT RSC 3.6 had to prove, what his 624 PS (459 kW) could really do. With a catapult of a start and the best time of 3.0 seconds to 100kph, the Königsegg CCX-R, Gumpert Apollo, Aston Martin DBS nor the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV could follow the tuned Porsche from Landau. Standard and other tuned Porsches with up to 700 PS (514kW) failed, too, even the 790 PS (581kW) Geiger Ford GT was no match for the Turbo to 100kph.
Geiger did take the honours in the 0-300-0 category, with an overall time of 30.3s, but that was the only car to go faster than the Cargraphic GT RSC 3.6. Once again another proof, that meticulous adjustments in the test sections are worth as much as the long cooperation with the development partners Bilstein, Dunlop and RS Tuning. Little note on the side: Cargraphic joined the duel with a conventional 6-speed ‘box and went against the current trend to prove that pole position can come with a gearshift. And before 200kph Cargraphic still led the way. With a peerless 9.1s to the landmark speed the Landauer was 0.4s faster than the Geiger-Ford GT and Gumpert Apollo. On his way part 300kph the GT made the most of its 166 PS power advantage and passed the Cargraphic 997 Turbo with a time of 22.8s. With a total time of 30.8 seconds for all four runs and a deficit of 0.5 seconds a sensational second overall was sewn up and the Cargraphic Porsche had more than proved its credentials by setting two fastest times.
